Tabs

Tabs are a visual representation of data in Objects and provide easy access to list views, reports and other platform features

New/More Actions

These controls manage records in the object, and allow customization of the object

  • Click the [New] button to add a new record to the Object
  • Use the checkbox icon to select a group of records and apply More Actions
  • Customize the Object

Sidebar

The content in the sidebar changes, depending on the object being displayed. The Sidebar can contain these elements:

  • Search - Enter a keyword and find matching records
  • Advanced Search - Narrow the search parameters to find matching records faster
  • Recent Items - A list of links to the most recently accessed records; Not all types of records are listed
  • Recycle Bin - Restore deleted information

Body

The content in the body of a page varies, and can appear as a List of records in an Object, a page of Widgets, a list of Reports, or Setup controls

List - A list of Records, made up of Fields
Widgets - A page of Widgets

Using Icons in Data Entry Forms

Find these fields and icons in the platform:

Required Field

Required fields are highlighted to indicate that data input is required. If a Required field is empty and an action is taken on the record (Edit and Save for example), an Error Message is displayed. To change the attributes of a field, see the Display Attributes section in Edit Field Properties.

Required fields are highlighted. In this example, a green bar is located on the left side of each required field.
Fields without a highlight are optional
Considerations
  • Checkbox fields are not eligible as Required fields

Error Message

Error Messages will be displayed when additional information is needed, or the data you entered does not meet the field format or criteria.

Page Icon

Use the Page Icon control to add, delete or clone pages, add widgets, or set the default page to display.

View Icon

From the View Icon, you can customize the current view, or build new views for you and your team.

Lookup Icon

A Lookup field can be identified in a form by the appearance of a Lookup Image:lookupicon.gif icon. The Lookup icon is used in data entry to view and select items from a Lookup Window.

Optionally, use the Auto-Completion for Lookup Fields option for faster data entry in Lookup fields.
